Ahoy there!! I'm Alex, and I've spent almost thirty years in this industry, starting out in QA and working my way up through design roles at studios like Sony Santa Monica, Blizzard, and EA. Somewhere along the way, I noticed that most of the game industry conversations out there focus on the same handful of famous names. Dev to Dev exists to fix that. It's a weekly podcast where I sit down with the developers building careers in videogames — designers, engineers, producers, and everyone in between — and discuss their careers, their craft, and why they keep showing up to do this job every day.
What the show is really about
Every episode follows a person, not a headline. We talk about how people actually got into games — the winding paths, the lucky breaks, the moments that could have gone another way. We dig into the pivots and turning points that reshaped a career, the skills that carried someone from one discipline into another, and the lessons that only come from years in the trenches. And because I've sat in the same chairs many of my guests have — design director, QA, live service, unannounced projects that never saw daylight — these are conversations between peers, not interviews from the outside looking in.
It's Season 2 now, and if anything, the show has gotten better at getting past the polished answers and into the honest ones.
